Van Buren Hotel
A private developer asked winslow + partners to do a feasibility study and create a schematic design for a different hotel flag, one that was more urban and connected.
With the site located so close to the Sky Harbor International Airport, the idea was to integrate it into the urban grid at a pedestrian level to allow for a Transit Oriented Development that enhanced the area and catered to the executive traveler in a more wholistic way.
The entry sequence and the overall design were determined mostly by the limited parking sequence. However, the inclusion of a glass facade in the design makes it feel more open despite the site limitations.
