Arizona School for the Arts - Campus Planning
A multi-phase campus development that included 4 phases to complete. Phase one included remodeling two connected buildings. The second phase completed the remodel of a third connected building and the addition of administrative areas. The third phase incorporated two adjoining two story buildings that were converted into classrooms, with two being modified for ballet studios. The fourth phase included the addition of a four story classroom building and a landscaped outdoor area for sheltered lunch seating and a performance area. Both pedestrian and vehicle circulation were key to the functioning of the campus.
Paul Winslow, FAIA, was the architect of record and a board member. His involvement included master planning, programming, development of phasing (five phases total over a period of 6 years), design and design documentation, as well as overseeing the construction administration while working at Orcutt/Winslow.
